Blue and Gold

Chaya & I setting up our side of the chow hall with blue & gold cub scout balloons with orange (tiger colour) ribbons.

Presenting of the colours - Flag & Pack flag. My boys were responsible for carrying the flags down the hall and placing them in their stands. They worked on this ceremonial bit and the skit for 2 den meetings. We were all so proud of them.

H not paying attention to what is going on ahead that he walked into I. H was looking at Joe who was taking the pictures.

I called up each boy & partner to hand them 'their' tiger badge, I called H's name and stood there for a few seconds waiting for his partner.....duhhhh ITS ME! Henry is behind me while I called his name, I didn't realize he was standing there until he went '''uhhh muddher".

My den of 12 boys (10 in the picture) who earned their Tiger badge (and a few beltloops) last weekend.

Valentine's day

I just realized I forgot to take pictures on Vday! At least I have one of nico dressed for the party at school. He said he was a chocolate covered strawberry and wearing his fave socks.

Visting the dentist every 6 months

Nico waiting for his turn, he watched a little girl experience her first dentist visit. He was telling her about all the dental tools.

Mr slurpy, the boys favourite toy.

Goofy boy, he had everyone laughing.

H was so relaxed he almost fell asleep.

Pinewood Derby

A few weeks ago our pack held its pinewood derby, the Tigers (the only den) raced against each other for the fast time. Henry had a blast just watching and participating, he placed overall 7 with a top speed of 168.3 mph.

Rows of cars for the whole pack. H's is the first yellow car with red in the middle row.
The boys having fun taking pictures of each other.

Placing their cars ever so gently.

H taking pics of his car as it comes down the track.

And here's the picture.

Tiger Time

Cub time at Camp Brorein this past Saturday. Henry & I headed up to the camp site, luckily its only about a 10 min drive north of us. After getting through sign in and getting wrist bands we were off to the face painting site. H picked Tiger stripes, some boys chose snakes/dragons/camo/dots/whiskers.

H found the Pinewood Derby stage and had to get a funny face for me.
H trying to remember what he had seen while out hiking.
The boy getting tripped up by the tires on the agility race.
Winding his way thru the 'lazer beams'.
Listening to the BB gun man in charge.
H waiting for his official start.
All set for shooting.
Taking aim...
Targets about 20 feet or more.
Retrieving targets.
The Tiger Time was over when lunch of hot dogs, chips & water were served.

Found a cute hat pattern yesterday on Ravelry.com, took about 8 hours of interrupted time. I started it at the park and finished it after dinner. Very warm but a little long, it might end up being a joe hat.

End of November into December

Friendship party at Nico's school.

My little salad eater, he loves everything green & crisp.

The goofballs hamming it up for the camera.
Henry enjoying his turn at the firehose.

Nico was confident that he could put out the "fire".
Even Joe got into the birthday spirit.

Accountable Kids

I started this program with Henry a few months back. Its a chore chart/behavior chart that Henry is primarily responsible for. As he works through his daily items (brush teeth, breakfast, school, lunch, quiet time, etc) he flips them over. He can earn up to 3 tickets a day which is turned in for a "Bonus Buck". He can lose a tickets too and knows why he lost his ticket without whining or crying. Immediate consequences have helped with the whines/fighting/crap all over the place.

I was able to pick up Chart for Nico this weekend at the MS Crop. He was beyond happy to get his own chore chart & tickets. He chose coral puffy letters & helped to put it together.

I also picked up a "cards & ticket" hanger, it holds extra cards & tickets so they are up above the charts.

One of the fall festival projects - crappy picture. Canvas placemat, crackle paint, Glimmer Mist, Stickles, Quickutz diecuts, stamps, Dabbers, Distressing Inks - very messy & lots of fun.
Picture box with lots of doo-dads.

Den boys

Had a den meeting last night with 6 boys who were eager to get crafty. I started a bead totem for the boys to earn beads for coming to den & pack meetings, bringing their tiger book & wearing their specified uniform (shirt, necker, slide, belt & patches).

Each boy designed his own lead and is responsible for adding his beads after the meetings.

I also put together a 'den doodle' using what else...scrapbook goodies. Quickutz letters, MM paints, Bazzill cardstock & ribbon.
