Recipe

I've been sitting on these papers & chipboard by Cosmo Cricket for a while. Came across a recipe book by Kenner Road and said that's what I'm going to make. I made my own tent board with chipboard scraps, it works now but I'm still looking for the Maya Road flip book.

h1n1 aka hiney flu

The boys are doing much better 24 hrs later, just a lingering fever and cough. Thank goodness nico only vomited once at 1am Friday, got in the shower, took some motrin and then slept until 8am. Woke up feeling good he said. He did take a dive after the motrin wore off so I'm staying on top of the meds dispensing.

It all started with Henry, he woke up with a sore throat 6am Thursday. Joe gave hims some water and vitamin c. Wihin an hour he was spiking a fever and whimpering. Called the pedi and had an appointment for 9.20am.

Poor boy he was miserable and just wanted to stay home in bed. They took a strep swap & flu swap which is a really long spongy qtip that they shove way up your nose. Fifteen minutes later the doc walks in saying "we have good news & some bad news, its not strep bad news its Influenza A -swine flu". She said its great that we caught it super early instead of waiting until the symptoms have worsened. She sent off a script for Tamiflu & Amantadine (another antiviral) and told me that H is in quarantine for 7 days starting today. No school, parks, malls, stores, etc until Thursday of next week. ARGHHHH!

By Friday he was better, not 100% henry. He still has that glassy eyed, pallor complextion and is sleeping a lot.

Today, Nico woke up saying he not feeling good. I gave him 2 motrin chewables and an hour later he is up playing with lego and acting much better.

school pages

Started working on these pages last night before the swine fairy dropped off its present for the boys. Nico is down for the count now and Henry says his back is not bothering him anymore. He did eat some chips & a cup of cottage cheese but still having a fight about taking liquids.

Nico acting goofy as we walk into the school, he had to carry his totebag in his teeth and then show the teacher his stuff. He took off to the playground without saying good bye or looking back for me.

At the pedi office waiting to see the doc. H. wants to go home, poor baby. He is miserable.

Rain rain go away

A page using die cuts only (quickutz since that's all i own) and photos of my work space.

Came across this cute paper the other day and bought 2 sheets with no idea on what I would use it for. Pulled out these pictures today and thought of the squirrel paper, perfect. Reminisce new autumn line, thickers and CI labels.

New Meds

Henry's visit with the neuro went great, he weighs just under 50lbs and 49inches. Since we have been having issues with the boy hiding/fighting/spitting out his pills, the doc gave us a script for the Daytrana patch. H was excited when I told him no more pills in the morning.

Around 8.30apm this morning, I slapped one on H's hip while he was sleeping. I wanted to apply it earlier but I didn't wake up until then. Its 9.30am now and so far it seems to have slowly kicked in. I'm hoping this slows his hyperactivity and ups his focus, we're going to work on writing letters today.

6 month checkup

The boys had a check up today and all is great. No cavities or dental issues, the doc says they are brushing well and taking care of their teeth. I asked about H not losing any teeth, doc said it could be another year before they fall out.

The boys are really interested in seeing the mouth & tools.

Henry fully stretched out on the chair, his feet and arms were stiff. You would have thought they were torturing him but he was giggling and said it tickled.
Nico being so calm he comatose.
H helping the doc. count nico's teeth, nico helped too. The nurse was giggling at the boys antics.

Again daddy!

Nico finally worked up the courage to have joe toss him into the pool. He was hooked after the first toss...again daddy again was all we heard that day.

Now I'm happy

I'm really happy with the way this page came out, it really shows the quiet, still air around Henry. He was very contented to stay on the roof of Ft. Mantanza outpost. He enjoyed watching the launch go back & forth across the inlet.

Stamping, metallic ink stamped border around photo, Autumn Leaves, October Afternoon, Daisy D paper.

Rainy Day

The boys have been mostly behaved today, they played with lego and watched some tv. Then they were entertained by Joe moving his computers out the bedroom into the front room. The boys are excited that they are getting their own rooms, Henry said he is moving all his toys into his room and locking the door.

Made Taco salad for dinner, so yummy with lots of lettuce & tasty salsa from Sam's (thanks Val!).
